Mini Splits
One outdoor unit, one indoor head, and a three-inch hole between them. The answer when a room has no ductwork and running some would cost more than the equipment.
Where they make sense
Rooms the main system never reached.
Nobody puts a mini split in a house that already has good ducted air. They go where the ducting does not.
Garage or shop
The most common one we sell. Working out there becomes possible rather than theoretical.
Casita or guest room
Its own system, its own thermostat, and no reason to condition it when nobody is in it.
Added room
A conversion or an addition where extending the existing ductwork is the expensive option.
What to work out first
Room size and where the outdoor unit goes.
Sizing is straightforward — square footage, ceiling height, sun exposure and insulation. Bring those numbers and we will tell you the capacity you need.
The part people forget is the outdoor unit. It needs a spot with clearance and a run back to the indoor head that does not cross the whole house.
