Fire Pits
Whether you are dropping a bowl on the patio this weekend or building a block surround into the hardscape, the burner is the part that decides whether it works.

Two ways to go
Portable now, or built in properly.
Both end up in the same place, which is people sitting outside. One takes an afternoon and one takes a mason.
Portable
A finished bowl or table that runs off a propane tank hidden in the base. Move it, store it, take it with you.
Built-in kit
Burner ring, pan, key valve, air vents and the media on top. Your mason builds the enclosure, we supply the parts that go in it.
Media
Lava rock, fire glass or ceramic logs. This is what people actually see, so it is worth a minute at the counter.
If you are building one
Talk to us before the block goes up.
The single most common problem we fix is a beautiful masonry fire pit with no air vents and no access to the valve. Both have to be designed in, not added later.
Bring the plan or a sketch. We will tell your contractor the burner size, the pan dimensions, where the gas stub needs to come up and where the vents go.
- Burner sizeSized to the opening — not the other way around
- PanSits under the media and holds the burner
- Key valveMust stay reachable after the stone goes on
- Air ventsRequired on an enclosed gas pit
One of ours, running
This is what six seconds of it looks like.
A bowl we supplied, lit, on a finished patio out in the valley. Birch-look ceramic logs over black lava rock, running on gas, no tank in sight because the line was run before the hardscape went down.
A photograph cannot show you how a fire pit actually moves. This is closer. Standing in front of one is closer still, and there are lit ones on the floor in Mesa.
Straight answers
Before you buy
Natural gas or propane for a patio fire pit?
If the gas is already out there, natural gas — no tanks to swap. If it is not, running a line across a finished yard is the expensive part, and propane starts to make sense.
How much fire glass do I need?
It depends on the pan size and how deep you want it. Bring the pan dimensions and we will work it out at the counter rather than have you guess.
